Hello Yu, I'm not sure which assembly you are looking at but "TAR1" is not present as a repFamily in the repeatmasker table for human. Doing a general search online I am guessing this is the "telomere-associated repeat 1". You can read more about the repeatmasker track on the description page:
http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTrackUi?&c=chr21&g=rmsk You can also read a brief description of any table (in this case the rmsk table) by clicking the "view table schema" link in the description page or in the Table Browser: http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTables?db=hg19&hgta_group=varRep&hgta_track=rmsk&hgta_table=rmsk&hgta_doSchema=describe+table+schema The repeats are cataloged in the RepBase library which is searchable and has entries for TAR1 here: http://www.girinst.org/repbase/update/search.php Hopefully this information was helpful and answers your question. If you have further questions or require clarification feel free to contact the mailing list at [email protected].
