Hi Ivan, Yes, the refGene and refFlat tables have slightly different schemas but contain all of the same entries, and are updated at the same time. The refGene table is is either in genePred or extended genePred format (depending on which assembly you are looking at): http://genome.ucsc.edu/FAQ/FAQformat.html#format9
The refFlat table is in a format similar to genePred, but with an extra geneName field at the beginning.
