Hi Lucia, In the refGene table, the length of a gene (including introns) will be txEnd - txStart. You can retrieve this information from the Table Browser (http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTables). Select a clade, genome, and assembly of your choice, then make the following selections:
group: Genes and Gene Prediction Tracks track: refSeq Genes table: refGene region: genome identifiers: if you have a list of ids, you can paste or upload a file here filter: click 'create', then in the "Free-form query" filed, type in 'txEnd - txStart > 1000000', click 'submit' output format: all fields from selected table output file: enter a file name to save your results to a file, or leave blank to display results in the browser Click 'get output'. For more information on how to use the Table Browser, please refer to our help pages: http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/hgTablesHelp.html Please contact us again at [email protected] if you have any further questions. --- Luvina Guruvadoo UCSC Genome Bioinformatics Group On 10/13/2011 7:16 AM, Lucia Franchini wrote: > Hi there, > > I am interested in downloading a list of genes ordered by size.
