Hi Dashti,

You can upload your data in a custom track and then save it as a session.

To upload a custom track please click "Add Custom Track" from the gateway
page (http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgGateway). Help documents are
available on the custom tracks page.

NGS data is large so we recommend bigDataUrl types (bigBed, bigWig, BAM,
VCF). However, the data file URLs have to be accessible by our servers in
order for us to display them. Information regarding each file format is
available from the customs track page.

Please note that if the data files are protected by HTTP or FTP username
and password, and the custom track's bigDataUrl includes the username and
password, then our servers can access the files, and anyone without the
username and password can't access them. However, this is not secure
because the HTTP or FTP username and password are transmitted to UCSC
without encryption. It is theoretically possible that they could be snooped
in transit to UCSC. Of course the HTTP or FTP password should *never* be
the same as a system login password.

Using Sessions is the best way to share views with collaborators. In
addition to custom tracks, the position and other settings can be
customized and saved, and then a simple link to the session can be shared.
After uploading your custom tracks you want to save, click on the
"Sessions" link from the blue navigation bar. There is help information
available to you on the Sessions page.

With regard to time limits, please see this page for more information:

Hi there,

I just want to ask/confirm that we can upload our NGS data to your browser
as (private; not shared with the public) custom data but have the option
that we can shared it via URL in case we want to share it with our group
members. I just want to know if there is time limit for the data to be
hosted at your website ? You also mentioned in your help page that you
offer help to group that want to publicly want to share their NGS data, if
this is the case do you have any rat strain NGS data publically available ?

Regards,

Dashti
