Hi Chris, To have a new genome assembly hosted by UCSC, it must first be submitted to NCBI. If you would like to see the assembly on our site, we suggest you encourage the assemblers to submit it. Please see the following page for more details: http://genomewiki.ucsc.edu/index.php/How_to_submit_a_new_genome.
Please contact us again at [email protected] if you have any further questions. --- Luvina Guruvadoo UCSC Genome Bioinformatics Group On 1/26/2012 12:10 PM, Jing Zhu wrote: > Can you help a friend of mine with this question about the cat genome? > > Jing > > ---------- Forwarded message ---------- > From:<[email protected]> > Date: Thu, Jan 26, 2012 at 11:06 AM > Subject: cat genome > To: [email protected] > > > Hi Jing,**** > > ** ** > > I had a question from a collaborator about the current state of the cat > genome assembly that I was wondering if you had any insight about.**** > > ** ** > > The UCSC browser currently supports the Dec 2008 (NHGRI/GTB V17e/felCat4) > version of the genome in addition to the 2006 (Broad/felCat3).
