Hello, Rodrigo,
Thanks for reading the documentation for displaying custom tracks.
I see that it is not entirely clear from the docs that the "track_name"
referred to is actually the =table= name, so rather than "DGV Struct
Var," you will want to use "dgv"; for Seg Dups, "genomicSuperDups,"
etc.
The following text appears in the section of the help docs you
mention:
"The value track_name must be set to the name of the primary table
on which the the track is based. To identify this table, open up the
Table Browser, select the correct genome assembly, then select the
track name from the track list. "
The primary table for the track will appear in the "table" pulldown
menu of the Table Browser.
You can also find the table name by clicking on the "show table
schema" link on the details page or configuration page of any track.
These methods from that page also work:
"To find the symbolic name of a composite track, look in the tableName
field in the trackDb table, or mouseover the track name in the track
control section."
though I admit that in the context of the full paragraph it appears
to refer only to composite tracks. The mouseover referred to here
will show you the tableName in the url at the bottom of your browser
window as the key=value pair, g=tableName. (The url display works
in Firefox on a Windows machine, anyway - I haven't checked it on
other platforms). You can also mouseover an item in the graphic
display and see the g=tableName in the url.
I hope this helps you with your custom tracks.
Thanks for being a Browser user.
