Hi Peng, The field name is for display purposes and is not unique for cpgIslandExt.
Please take a look at this schema for hg19: http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTables?db=hg19&hgta_group=regulation&hgta_track=cpgIslandExt&hgta_table=cpgIslandExt&hgta_doSchema=describe+table+schema The name field comprises this: "CpG: " + the value in the cpgNum field (this value is the"Number of CpGs in island") Looking at the schema you can see that the cpgNum value is the"Number of CpGs in island" I hope this clarifies your question. If you have further questions, please email the list: [email protected]. To: [email protected] Hi, It seems that the field 'name' in cpgIslandExt is not unique. I'd suppose that each CpG island should have a unique name. Since it is not, I'm wondering what this name field is for. Could anybody help if you happen to know? Thanks! -- Regards, Peng _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome
