Hi Melissa,

Please take a look at this page:
http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/bam.html

The only line that is pasted into the custom track input box contains a
bigDataUrl as shown in step 6. The bam and bai files aren't uploaded to our
site. The BAM file and index file (.bai) should be placed on a web
accessible server (http, https, or ftp) which is referenced in the
bigDataUrl. Unfortunately, we are unable to assist you in finding a
location to store your files.

I hope that clarifies things. If you have further questions, please contact
the mailing list: [email protected].

Subject: [Genome] can not upload custom tracks
To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]>

Hi I am trying to upload a sorted BAM file with its BAI file but when I go
to add custom tracks and point to the location it returns an error stating
that it can not read the file. Any suggestions? Also, I tried file
Dropper but it does not recognize the website. Is there a website storage
location that you could recommend? The Bam File is less than 1GB and the
BAI file is about 6 MB.

Thanks,
