Hello, Shiaoching. Welcome to the Browser! If you're a beginner to the Browser, allow me to first recommend that you view the OpenHelix tutorial at http://www.openhelix.com/ucsc before doing anything else. You can also find additional training materials at http://genome.ucsc.edu/training.html.
To find your gene, perform the following steps: 1. Navigate to http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgGateway 2. Select the following options: Clade: Mammal Genome: Human Assembly: Feb. 2009 (GRCh37/hg19) 3. In the "position or search term" box, enter TNFAIP3 4. Click the "submit" button 5. You will be brought to a page containing many results. The first group of results belong to the UCSC Genes track. The second group of results belong to the RefSeq Genes track. Clicking on one of the results will bring you to the appropriate genomic location in the Browser. The specific result you click on will be highlighted in the margin at the left. 6. Click any point on the gene to view the details page Please contact us again at [email protected] if you have any further questions. --- Steve Heitner UCSC Genome Bioinformatics Group -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Shiaoching Gong Sent: Tuesday, July 31, 2012 1:49 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Genome] thanks Dear Sir/Madam, Greetings from the GENSAT Project at The Rockefeller University. I am writing to ask if you can help me find A20 {( TNFAIP3 (tumour necrosis factor ?-induced protein 3)} gene expression regulation on your website. I would like to see how TNF regulate the expression of this gene, but do not know how to select the tracks to get this information. I would be most appreciative of any help that you can offer. Thanks!
