I've seen odcctools failing to compile with someone else too.  One
thing I'd like to try on x86-macos is to take the previous (not the most
recent) version, to see if that does work.

I'm lagging a bit with your latest additions...  I should definitely go
and bootstrap myself on an x86-macos machine somewhere soon...
