I'd like to that.  However, I have no access to a gentoo linux box now
since I switched to MacBook Pro :)  I'm afraid if it is good to submit
a untested ebuild...

I wish it will be soon to merge into the main tree.  I gave macports
up because I had a good life with my old gentoo linux laptop, and I
don't want to learn another similar package management system.
