Hah... the problem is, that for some weird reason i cannot build python outside
the prefix.... it works when using portage, but i can't make it without
portage. As long as i can't find the reason for it, we'll still have python 2.4
in prefix-launcher...
You may be interested in my workaround... I just created a patched
tarball for interix ;)
i want to have it really bad :) could you send me a patch?

With this little patch, things work (again - they worked with a little older
portage, which seemed to behave the way i want it to).
I need to check this with upstream.
