In the event that you you have decided to keep your /usr/lib and /usr/lib64 directories real, which I did after xorg 6.8.2 hosed my symlinks, doing this solved most of the problems:
1. emerge baselayout 2. export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/lib64/pkgconfig It seems that many (most?) apps use pkgconfig to get the location of their libraries these days, and I've only had to do minimal work sorting out /usr/lib and /usr/lib64. (I've currently got 2 libraries hand-symlinked from /usr/lib64 -> /usr/lib, and system is compiling stuff fine -- fingers crossed! - eg kde split builds (both beta and rc), gimp, e17, inkscape, spamassasin, sylpheed-claws, gaim etc etc) On Sat, 12 Mar 2005 20:37:02 +0000 (UTC) Andreas Calvo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Well, you've been so clear to me.
