Hey, thats cool. If you choose to use substandard hardware solely because you can't view the source code, more power to you. I respect the fact that these hardware manufacturers are developing products in an extremely competitive marketplace and need to maintain some level of secrecy to keep from getting ripped off by the next guy. If that is what it takes to give me the next gen hardware I am running today then so be it. Just as I respect your decision to avoid them.
In the current business climate, I can settle for a working closed source
graphic card driver because I know it won't hurt my health nor my
financial position.
It will hurt your freedoms and rights. I, at least, value mine.
I am totally against software companies that use closed proprietry file formats in an attempt monopolize a particular market, but these are individual components that couldn't share anything between the 2 anyway. Just so long as they perform. I don't know why you have to imply that those of us that disagree with you do not value our rights...
That is all I have left to say on this subject.
