I think you got that reversed, he's trying to turn the USE flag ON, not
off. It's already off in the profile.
no, it's -firebird in use.mask, since we don't want to mask it. then of
course he has to have "firebird" in his use flags.
So... what he'd probably need to do (assuming it works, I'm not sure but
I think it will), would be to echo "firebird", instead of "-firebird".
