[gentoo-amd64] Re emerge apache.

I did something kind of stupid and FUBAR'd apache.  I am now trying to 
remove it and re-install it as if it were a new install.  What's the way 
to do it?  I have tried unmerge and re-emerged it, but no good.  Any ideas?
