Note in particular that many AMD64 chips require registered memory, which is significantly more expensive than unregistered memory. A few of the newer CPUs eliminate this requirement, but I haven't been tracking close enough to know if they've actually shipped yet or when they started, if so. In any case, be sure to check whether your system requires registered memory or not, and be sure to get registered memory, if it does, because if you don't, it /won't/ work, tho due to the hardware requirements, nothing to do with Gentoo or Linux. -- Duncan - List replies preferred.
