I tried to upgrade xorg, but failed. The xorg 7.0 ran about 1-2 seconds and then crashed. No hints in log files. As I currently do not have time to hunt down the error *sigh*, I downgraded again. I'll probably will not have time to investigate the problem within the next few weeks. However, I'll post my success/failures in this thread.
[...], as this is just the sort of trick I like to keep up my sleeve for those unexpected situations -- offhand comments in a newsgroup thread mentioning something someone's trying to do, etc. Having a few of these sorts of tricks around can GREATLY enhance one's reputation as a "magician" (aka geek god, aka guru)! =8^)
Honestly, the page looks promising. I'd recommend it. I covers all the issues encountered when setting up such X layouts.
