sure, I use kmplayer

the trick is, if you have mplayer (64 bit) also installed, then you need to make a symbolic link named mplayer earlier in your path so that it points to mplayer-bin instead.

The frontends, kmplayer for example, calls mplayer. Since I have linked mplayer-bin to it, mplayer-bin is called ... and its all good ...

ex: ln -s /usr/bin/mlayer-bin /usr/local/bin/mplayer

Is there a way to put a gui or front end with an interface on mplayer-bin?
