I have done these additional Tests: (all with the Gentoo Linux
Installation LiveCD 2005-12-11)

1) It boots fine as long as i dont change the keyboard layout.

2) When trying to write an altered partition table with fdisk (w
command) i get:

The partition table has been altered!
Calling ioctl() to re-read partition table.
ata1: command 0x35 timeout, stat 0xd0 host_stat 0x1
ata1: status=0xd0 {Busy}
NMI Watchdog detected LOCKUP on CPU 0

<here was a list of the loaded modules>
<some fancy numeric information>

Kernel panic - not syncing; Aiee, killing interupt handler!

3) The error in 2) appears no matter wether i do "gentoo" or "gentoo
noapic acpi=off nodetect", then load the sata_nv module.
