Hi I had this problem too, and I solved it by using the sdl sound output (-ao sdl:alsa).
I'm a little late on this thread due to problems with our SGI supercomputers, but now that I have some free time, I need to fix this problem as well, how do you use the '-ao sdl:alsa' to fix the problem?
