I don't see a reason to update the FAQ. Yes, if you know your system inside-out and have an ammount of knowledge about the toolchain that 99.99% of all Gentoo users are lacking then you might be able to do such an update. And yes, it is possible to go from Frankfurt/Main to Offenbach via Mars. Both are not supported in any way, will cost you *way* more time than it might possibly be worth and will be considered useless or even stupid by the rest of the world... Nobody's stoping anybody to try, but if we put something like "you might be able to do it by [...]" in the FAQ we will end with a load of people running into trouble while trying it and asking for help, no matter how often and abvious we state "This is not supported in any way and we will not help you if it breaks your system."... -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFEsj9i6q4f+IV6B/wRAh1mAJ9WXTWCDpOWMYRC310ZYdrVIKNdtQCfQyZb xNfXPFa6ToWakwUUA4Wp5rc= =YC0J -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- [email protected] mailing list
