Yeah, virtual/jdk-1.4.2 has kaffe as one of its dependency options. It does work with eselect, but I'm not sure about java-config (which I thought was going away.) I'm also not sure which generation is affected by eselect. Experimenting a little I get <URL: http://gentoo-user.pastebin.com/784371 >, which seems to me that kaffe is at least selectable -- but could still be unsupported -- as both a generation-1 and generation-2 vm and eselect java-vm only shows/modifies the generation-2 setting > > We still don't have a freedomware 1.5+ (generation-2) jvm/jre/jdk for > > Gentoo, AFAIK. > > Looking forward to Sun's relicensing. As am I. -- "If there's one thing we've established over the years, it's that the vast majority of our users don't have the slightest clue what's best for them in terms of package stability." -- Gentoo Developer Ciaran McCreesh
