Overclocked the core 2 duo (E8400) from 3 to 4GHz using motherboard

(when cpu is under load), in linux /proc/cpuinfo never shows beyond the

Yes, but the /proc/cpuinfo I showed, was with the max frequency ever
displayed (under load).
FWIW I am not using frequency scaling (and my cpuinfo shows the OC
speed). Every overclocking tutorial I've ever seen starts off with
"disable all power saving/frequency scaling" :)
Right. That's how I started too. But since the OC works (at least as
shown under windoze) with frequency scaling
enabled, why disable it?
