My stage4 spec file:
subarch:i686
version_stamp: tst
target: stage4
rel_type: default
profile: default-linux/x86/2006.0
snapshot: 20060401
source_subpath: default/my_own_stage3-i686
portage_confdir: /etc/portage
stage4/use: mysql zlib -kde -arts -mad -mpeg -ogg -vorbis -sdl -gstreamer
-oggvorbis -esd -ldap -mozilla unicode emacs apache2 usb
firefox
boot/kernel: gentoo
boot/kernel/gentoo/sources: gentoo-sources
boot/kernel/gentoo/config:/usr/share/genkernel/x86/kernel-config-2.6

gives the following error:
 * Warning: could not generate /etc/modprobe.conf!
removing /var/tmp/catalyst2/tmp/default/stage4-i686-tst/tmp/chroot-functions.sh

ls /var/tmp/catalyst2/tmp/default/stage4-i686-tst/boot shows:

initramfs-x86-2.6.15-gentoo-r1
kernel-genkernel-x86-2.6.15-gentoo-r1
kernel-x86-2.6.15-gentoo-r1

Cant figure out why I get two kernels/initramfs which I think is the cause of
the error.

Also a question: I tried to find an option to control the compression used on
the portage snapshot and the
generated stages but didn't find any. I would find it useful when testing
different configs if one could
select compression method among none, gzip or bzip. That would make the test
cycle faster.
