[gentoo-catalyst] Building stage2 tar ball?

I'm trying to rebuild:

stage2-amd64-2006.0.tar.bz2

from source. The docs I've read so far tell me how to build a livecd-stage2 target, which seems to build a lot of other stuff apart from the above file.

Is there a recipe for building just the stage2 tarball?
