I've attached to the bug a proposed patch which allows individual architectures, when registering themselves, to optionally provide the name to use in connection with genkernel. This is then passed to the shell scripts doing the lifting as clst_hostkarch (which defaults to the regular hostarch value if a kernel architecture name is not specified).
