I'm trying to make a Gentoo CD (who on here isn't?) for an IBM PPC64 machine. The official Gentoo Minimal CD boots just fine on my machine (RS/6000), but my own custom ISO does not. My disc is not being detected as a bootable device, and oh how I wish I knew why.
My only guess is that it has something to do with mkisofs/cdrtools. I have version 2.01.01_alpha10 installed. I realize that 2.01.01_alpha25 is available, but I can't get that version even to create an ISO, let alone a bootable one. For reference's sake, here is the exact mkisofs command as it is getting run by catalyst on my system: mkisofs -J -r -l -chrp-boot -netatalk -hfs -probe -map /var/tmp/catalyst/builds/default/livecd-stage2-ppc64-5.0/boot/map.hfs -part -no-desktop -hfs-volid "catalyst 2007.0" -hfs-bless /var/tmp/catalyst/builds/default/livecd-stage2-ppc64-5.0/boot -V "catalyst 2007.0" -o /root/MyDisc_PPC64.iso /var/tmp/catalyst/builds/default/livecd- stage2-ppc64-5.0/ What version of cdrtools was used to make Gentoo's official 2007.0 build? Thanks, Stephen
