I'm using default/stage3-no_man_pages-i686-2008.0 as my seed stage, which is stage3-i686-2008.0 with removed man-pages-2.x . I'm using it in stage 1-3 and livecd-stage1. The snapshot entries are generated with m4, before catalyst is called (the whole process runs in a Makefile), so they should fit (I just checked the entries of stage 1 and 2, and they are ok, but the whole system worked for years now). I cannot remove util-linux in my snapshot, because it's not there, as it seems. Still no idea, why genkernel requires e2fsprogs...
