I'm finally getting around to trying to track down why my KDE system sound
fx aren't playing. First, I thought it was KDE was looking in
/usr/share/sounds instead of /usr/kde/3.4/share/sounds (the sounds are
referenced only by filename by default, not path), but fixing that didn't
help. Come to find out, it'll play *.wavs just fine, but not the default
(AFAIK) *.oggs, even when pointed to directly (either when previewed in
kcontrol's sysnotifications applet, or triggered).

* I have libogg and libvorbis installed, and have for some time.

* I run ARTS, and Noatun plays the same oggs (and mp3s and wavs and...)
just fine thru ARTS, so it's not like the libs or ogg file is buggy, or
like the kde ./config step should be missing them.

* ARTS is merged with USE=oggvorbis

*  2005.0 ~amd64 system

*  kde-3.4 split-packages installed where possible.

* I do have FEATURES=buildpkg set, and can verify from there if a file
was packaged for original merge or if it was missing from the package as
merged, if necessary.

* I also have portage logging set, and can retrieve that for the KDE
packages, anyway (the libogg and libvorbis logs may have been deleted by
now).

I can't even figure out which package I should try to remerge -- or bug --
since I haven't the foggiest if it's arts, kdelibs, or one of the kdebase
(I'd guess) split packages, that's responsible.
