Well, that's significantly better than the kcontrol display applet does for me! It sees two monitors, but only has clone mode, so if try to change anything, it forces clone mode and screws everything up. Even after switching back using my xrandr based script, plasma is still mixed up and have the activities in the wrong place. It always takes me a bit of fiddling with zooming in and out and etc to get it right, again. And a couple versions ago, 4.3.0 IIRC, it was WAY bad. I only had to stop at that applet on the way to another one, for it to screw things up! I didn't even have to change anything, just open that applet, accidentally (as it certainly was after the first time!) or deliberately, and it would screw things up! I learned to steer VERY clear of it! But FWIW, the rumor is that the bug that's triggering the problems, that it recognized only one of the CTRCs or whatever, is fixed in trunk, and thus will be fixed for 4.4, scheduled for February. I'm eagerly awaiting that day, as I've not had a properly working kde display applet in years, with kde3 either, so am really anticipating actually being able to play with it in the GUI and have the changes work like they're supposed to! -- Duncan - List replies preferred.
