Somewhat on that topic, if it hasn't already been considered, it would be nice 
if Portage kept track of enough info so that 'emerge -C gnome' (for example) 
uninstalled everything that was installed for 'gnome' (including 
dependencies) unless they are depended on by another package installed later. 
Likewise, a warning when a user is uninstalling a package that something else 
still depends on would be good.
