G'day Everyone,
I'd just like to bring GLEP #11 [1] back into the lime light for a
little bit. I initially authored GLEP #11 due to the contributions of a
number of people to a couple of threads on this list. As it stands at
the moment a couple of the proposals/ideas in the GLEP have been
implemented (one being the moving of the doc root from /home/httpd to
/var/www).There are currently a number of talented people slowly progressing this: robbat2, stuart, max and others. I feel that is is important that progress continues to be made in this area for Gentoo. Unfortunately work and other life commitments have meant that I have been unable to keep a close eye on the progress of this GLEP and as of 26 JAN 04 I will be on a hiatus from active contributions to Gentoo. I would like to encourage all those with significant experience in configuring/deploying/creating web based applications to support the Gentoo developers in their efforts to make web based applications easier to install and support on Gentoo and lend them a hand where possible. Thanks. 1. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/glep/glep-0011.html -- Troy Dack Gentoo moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and [EMAIL PROTECTED] look around once in awhile, you could miss out.
