well unless you have devfs setup to mount automatically at boot time in your kernel, the init scripts will do the rest just watch during the boot up sequence, it should say something like: * Configuring system to use udev * Setting /sbin/udev as hotplug agent... * Populating /dev with device nodes... if it doesnt, chances are you havent enabled hotplug support in your 2.6.x kernel -mike -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
