There are no provisions in this GLEP to handle backporting of security fixes, nor do I plan to add any. A key provision of this GLEP is that it does not take a large team of people to function properly. For the most part, it slots into existing processes. Thus, as proposed in this GLEP, it will be up to the package maintainer on whether to backport or release a new version. --kurt
