They can just use binaries and so avoid all build time. There is a binary archive available online: http://chinstrap.alternating.net/ But I build my binaries usually on my fastest machine with FEATURES=buildpkg and distribute them with nfs to all slower machines .. saves quite a lot of buildtime.
