What do you mean, 'under' kdemultimedia? Do you want 15 new categories - 
kde-multimedia, kde-base etc - one for each monolithic ebuild?

Please explain why you find it confusing. To us, it makes it easy to act on 
the set of all official kde.org applications.

If we were to put eg konqueror in www-client, you could find it if you were 
looking for 'a browser', but not if you were looking for 'the kde browser' - 
assuming you didn't know its name.

More importantly, half the packages would end up in kde-misc anyway ;-)

If you want to group split ebuids by their parent packages, you can grep for 
KMNAME. Every split ebuild defines eg KMNAME=kdebase. Does that help?
