After talking on #gentoo-mips - I'm starting to see the point. Even on a moderately fast x86 (1.8ghz), there is a solid minimal increase of 30 minutes to emerge kde-meta if using configure cache. Or a nice minimal increase of 4 hour without configure cache. -- this is on a 2500+ with 1024Mb DDR400 ram - ftp://81.86.159.146/configure-cache-kde Even with configure cache (that will hopefuly be implemented soon), that still multiplies to days on the slower mips systems.
