(BMy rant on IRC pretty much sums up my response, so in case you missed it:
(B
(B[13:17] <jstubbs> i don't understand sometimes. :/
(B[13:18] <jstubbs> it is found out that -r14 and prior are broken in that they
(B will always make use of PORTDIR_OVERLAY even when commiting.
(B[13:19] <jstubbs> -r15 comes out with a heavy handed (but timely) patch that
(B kills all use of PORTDIR_OVERLAY.
(B[13:19] <jstubbs> people like using PORTDIR_OVERLAY with repoman so they stick
(B with -r14 (or prior)
(B[13:19] <carpaski> Spork?
(B[13:20] <jstubbs> and then people are scared to test a patch that fixes the
(B bug and allows use of PORTDIR_OVERLAY?
(B[13:20] <carpaski> jstubbs: Speaking of which...
(B[13:20] <carpaski> Well, that answers my question.
(B[13:21] <jstubbs> i don't get it at all.. :(
(B[13:21] <jstubbs> seem to be expected to have unit tests and regressions tests
(B for everything and make sure everything is bug free before release and
(B have every requested feature done tomorrow.
(B[13:22] <jstubbs> not to mention documentation, class diagrams, use cases, etc
(B[13:22] <jstubbs> yet, if one says "help me help you" the answer is no!?
(B
