It's been talked about, and has an open bug afaik. It's a good suggestion, and I'd like it in portage. That said, I (personally) don't want it in, till things are saner. Enough cruft as is- the sync refactoring that's in cvs head probably could allow for the hook, assuming a -sane- hook was defined, and either a portage dev took it under their wing, or someone stepped up with a -clean- patch. It's not a priority for me, but a hook/plugin system is needed at some point. ~brian
