Well, even if it's a small percentage of the devs, #gentoo-dev-help is usually well populated and it is very rare that people don't get answers to their question. I also think that a lot of people who will subsribe will be power users who already wrote ebuilds and have some experience, so should be able to address at least some of the questions.
