I was running evdev under Xorg 7.0 and 7.1 for my mouse without problems.
It works if you use it the way they intend it to use it. Read the man page. Otherwise yea it will crash.
I used it under 7.0 fine but when I upgraded to 7.1 it started causing xorg to crash on startup same configuration. I'll try it again, maybe this weekend. I confirmed it was evdev removing it's module from the xorg.conf fixed the issue. -- gentoo-dev@gentoo.org mailing list
