Normally, I wouldn't send private responses to the list, but since this is something everyone can use (and nothing "private") I am making an exception.

What I am hoping we end up with is: profiles/default-linux/$arch/ChangeLog: This is for the arch team/releng/anyone else who make changes in an architecture's profile. This would be for adding, for example, things to use.mask or package.mask on the no-multilib profile(s). profiles/default-linux/ChangeLog: This is for stuff affecting Linux only. profiles/base/ChangeLog: This is for anything affecting everyone. profiles/ChangeLog: This is for new USE/package.mask and such. Of course, other ChangeLog entries could be added to different locations, but this is my trying to keep the number of ChangeLog locations as small as possible. I'm definitely open to any other suggestions or ideas. I just think this is probably the easiest for the time being. -- Chris Gianelloni Release Engineering Strategic Lead Alpha/AMD64/x86 Architecture Teams Games Developer/Council Member/Foundation Trustee Gentoo Foundation
