Well, they can actually depend on a specific net service too. For example, I have this on my home server in /etc/conf.d/lighttpd RC_NEED="net.vpn" You can add those RC_NEED/USE/AFTER/BEFORE directives to any conf.d/ file and it will append to the stuff in the init script.
