Well, for me personaly a hardcoded "Monospace 10" fallback is perfecly fine, because i have a proper fontconfig setup with an acceptable aliases list and also proper DPI settings on all my machines. This lets me use exactly the same font config (in fact the same desktop setup) on all my machines, regardless of the display/monitor size. But no matter how wrong i think it is, i usualy respect the upstreams wishes. Christian
