I personally agree with several others who have replied to this
thread. The reduction in lines of code/characters seems to introduce
an uglier syntax which is harder to read with questionable benefits.
Try using it for a few weeks. Once you're used to it it's considerably
nicer than going through and implementing pointless src_configures all
over the place...
Nothing that couldn't be done using an eclass and a nicer syntax IMHO...
