Sure, provided there's point in doing so (like to enable X USE flag there? truetype? maybe dbus?) . One parent profile more won't hurt anyway - it can be made empty for now, and left to be really used in the future - but certainly current bloat needs to be purged from there. It's not even funny to suggest users to use desktop profile as it will pull all KDE and all Gnome related dependencies which is silly, no matter DE one prefers. -- regards MM
