I'm not sure about that. It might be a bit speculative, but I think I
remember problems with that unless I rebuilt everything with new GCC
(this was not with 4.5 and 4.6, but some older versions).

If rebuilding with new GCC fixes the problem I think it means the
problem was with ABI.
