That's the same thing you said when I proposed sub-slot support, and I think the majority agrees that sub-slots are very useful and practical. Also, please see 3 major advantages of REQUIRES/PROVIDES soname dependencies that I enumerated in my response to Matthias Maier [1]. These reasons show that REQUIRES/PROVIDES data is extremely useful for plenty of cases that are not currently covered by slot-operator dependencies (and will not be covered for the foreseeable future).
