repoman doesn't check reverse dependencies for the package you're
working on.

eshowkw(1) displays keywording in a pretty nice graph. Avoiding removing
the (last) stable ebuild probably involves having that automatically
invoked on entering (or working in, at some point) a package directory
and actually reading the output before you decide to remove any ebuild.
